Julie & Justin’s Wedding and Reception

Posted by admin on August 19, 2008 - 4:56 pm

Can you say FUN? We had a blast photographing Julie and Justin’s wedding. They are very easy going and were so relaxed that everyone had a fun. We had some fun with the guys over by the old grain mills in Katy and took some awesome shots. It was a bummer that it was so hot so we had to rush through it before we all melted. Julie was as calm as can be and really looked pretty for the wedding. Once we made it through the ceremony at the First Methodist Church in Katy, we rode with them on the party bus to Safari Texas. You know it is going to be crazy when we didnt make it out of Katy before having to stop and buy more beer for the bus. We took some fun shots in the bus and they had an awesome reception. Here are a few of the photos that we shot.

We were having a little fun during the formals. Completely unscripted!!

The Beer Run!!

Hope you enjoyed the shots. Be sure to leave us a comment. We would love to hear what you think about the wedding.

Sara’s Bridals at The Tuscany Villa in Katy

Posted by admin on August 13, 2008 - 3:13 pm

We had the pleasure of photographing Sara’s bridals at The Tuscany Villa in Katy. This is a super venue that we have wanted to work in for a long time. It has a really nice Tuscan Villa feel to it with a ton of great locations to get some awesome shots. This is a venue with alot of character. Sara showed up to do her bridals on what had to be the hottest day of the year in Houston. We had plans to incorporate the Villas amazing outdoor balcony in the shoot but it ended up so hot that we only spent about 5 minutes outside. Sara was awesome even though she had driven half the night from Iowa to be at the shoot. We ended up with some really good shots and had a blast working with her. Take a look and feel free to leave a comment for us.

Photos Selected for Katy Magazine

Posted by admin on July 31, 2008 - 5:34 pm

Recently we had a local magazine talk to us about submitting some photos for their piece they were writing about weddings in Katy Texas. They told us there was no guarantee that they would use any of the photos selected. Fortunately, they thought a couple of our photos were worthy of printing in their article. We were really surprised and super excited when we found out we had made it. Unfortunately we didnt get the cover as that went to the magazines staff photographer but we did get 3 photos included. If you get a chance, pick up a copy of the Katy Magazine (I believe it is free) and look for the following shots.

Here is the cover. It is a really nice magazine.

Here are the 3 photos that they included in their magazine:

Keep an eye out for more updates. We have alot of amazing photos to share with all of you.

Have Fun Everyone!!

New Website

Posted by admin on July 29, 2008 - 6:34 am

Hello everyone. Hope all of you are having a great summer. We have been really busy with weddings and have fallen behind in keeping you updated here. On top of all of that we made the decision that we needed to head in a new direction with our website and it needed to be something that was easier to deal with and keep updated. I took a week off of our production and worked on getting the new site off the ground. It is online now and currently has some new photos within it. We really like the site and the size of the photos that we are allowed to use. So far everyone that has seen it has given us very positive feedback. We are planning to add some galleries that will include photos from specific weddings as well as a couple of albums that we have created. Hopefully that will be done in about a week. Take a look at it and be sure to let us know what you think of the new site.

A birthday gift for a Marine

Posted by admin on July 10, 2008 - 3:17 pm

Awhile back we did a shoot with one of our future brides Caitlin. Her fiance, Alex, is a Marine stationed in Iraq and she wanted to send him a nice photo of herself for his birthday. We had to keep everything top secret so it would be a surprise which is part of the reason for the delay in posting it here. So we took Caitlin to a local spot to get some some nice shots of her. The entire time she kept telling us how she takes terrible photos. After we started shooting, I had to stop and ask her if she was sure she had never modeled before. She was giving us some smoldering looks that just had to be for Alex. The shots turned out great and we were stoked to hear Alex’s reaction. Caitlin couldn’t keep a secret and spilled the beans so Alex knew they were coming, he just didn’t know what they looked like. We heard he was pretty excited about the photos. We are praying for him to get back home safely and be able to do their engagements and then their wedding. Take a look and feel free to comment on the photos.

Sunset on the Texas Gulf Coast

Posted by admin on June 4, 2008 - 9:41 pm

A couple of weeks ago we did an engagement shoot with a super sweet couple from Austin. They drove down and wanted to have sunset shots taken on the beach. The trouble is the sun doesnt set over the water in Galveston. The other issue we were worried about was the weather. It was completely cloudy and threatening to rain all day. As most of the native Houstonians know, wait an hour and the weather will change. We had planned to go to the Strand and get some urban grunge shots in before heading to the beach. After looking at the weather and deciding we would be better off going straight to the beach, sure enough the weather decided to change. It actually cleared off for a short time and we took some awesome shots with these amazing clouds over the Gulf. Afterwards we headed to a special spot that allows you to get the sun setting behind you over water and were treated to a SPECTACULAR sunset.

Kelly and Michael were a little nervous at first since we didnt get to go downtown but they quickly got into the groove and let their love for each other show. They were a super attractive couple that really looked romantic as they walked the beach. We were so fortunate that they allowed us to tag along for there engagement photos. Take a look and I think you will like the shots.

This bird sat on this post for probably 20 minutes and never moved.

The next 2 are a couple of my all time favorites shots.

I hope you liked the photos. We would love to hear what you think about them.

Soccer Champs

Posted by admin on May 28, 2008 - 11:09 am

Most of our time outside of photographing weddings and other fun stuff is spent chasing our daughters around the world as they play soccer. Our oldest is a scholarship player at the University of the Incarnate Word and our youngest plays in high school and for a nationally ranked club team in the Houston area. This last weekend the youngest daughter’s team played for the South Texas State Cup and won. So they became the South Texas State Champs and will be slotted to play in the regional tournament in North Carolina. We had alot of fun watching them play even though it was HOT outside. Mid 90’s in Houston can be brutal. Here are a few shots of her and her team.

The Youngest, all serious and stuff.

Doing what she does.

The pile, just after their formal team photo.

They have another huge tournament this weekend which is one of the largest college recruiting tournaments in the area. Just wanted to share my daughters success with all of you.

Romance in the Country!!

Posted by admin on May 19, 2008 - 8:18 pm

We had a blast with Genifer and Andy in an awesome country setting complete with tractors, cows, ponds, rabbits and a snake that crawled over Becca’s foot. After she screamed, I dont think there was another animal around that came near us. She didnt drop the camera and ended up with some awesome shots from where she was standing. Gen and Andy were a blast and SO sweet together. They are full of romance and passion and have alot of fun together. We were so fortunate to be allowed to photograph them. We cant wait to shoot the bridals and wedding.

We had another amazing South Texas sunset!!!

We would love to hear how you like the shots.

E-session with Ebony & Aaron

Posted by admin on May 16, 2008 - 9:55 am

Last week we had spent the evening with Ebony and Aaron for the engagement shoot in Houston. We started off a little late due to the traffic around the med center but once we started shooting Ebony and Aaron got right into the shoot. Talking about a couple that wasn’t camera shy at all. They were super sweet and really showed their affection for each other. With the love they were pouring out and the amazing sunset we had, we were able to get some really awesome shots.

Herman Park

Ebony scared the daylights out of me when she just hopped up on the Sabine Street bridge railing(sitting of course) for some shots. This section has a 30-40 foot drop and I was really nervous. It didn’t phase her and we ended up with some great stuff.

Thanks alot for making this a fantastic shoot! We hope you enjoy the photos.

Recent Bridal

Posted by admin on May 15, 2008 - 10:41 am

Last week we had the opportunity to photograph Julie for her bridals. She was a blast and really opened up for us. She even walked out onto the rocks that led to a small waterfall at the location. I am really excited that she did because the shots were awesome. It is unfortunate that we cant post any of the them right now because we had some of the most colorful sunsets I have seen in awhile. After the wedding next month I will get a few of them up so you can see how pretty Julie was and how fortunate we were with the location.

This past weekend we had 2 E-sessions and took some awesome shots as well. We will get a few of Ebony and Aaron posted tonight and in a few days we will get some shots of Genifer and Andy posted. Our next shoot will take Ashton and Robert to an English red phone booth and Mercer Arboretum then in another shoot will be with Kelly and Michael at sunset on the beach. We are really looking forward to this weekend and it looks like the weather is going to be perfect.

Have fun everyone!!

Sarah & Jerimiah

Posted by admin on April 7, 2008 - 8:07 pm

Recently we had a blast photographing Sarah & Jeremy during their engagement session. These two were so much fun. Jerimy brought his guitar and sang to Sarah which was really sweet. They were very relaxed and Jerimy was constantly goofing around which made the shoot a blast. I think you will see what I am talking about. Here are just a few of our favorites.

Norma & David’s Wedding

Posted by admin on March 21, 2008 - 1:06 pm

A few weeks ago we had the honor of photographing Norma & David’s wedding at the Pavilion Royale. We had a blast working with the two of them for their engagements and they are a lot of fun and very romantic together. They did not have alot of the wedding traditions and were wanting to just have fun with their family and friends. The two of them arrived together, already dressed and ready for action. The actual ceremony was simple and very quick and then we were off to the party. Here are a couple of the dance shots we worked up for you to look at. Our best wishes to Norma & David.

Elizabeths Bridals

Posted by admin on March 9, 2008 - 10:18 pm

I was supposed to post these shots awhile back and honestly did not realize that they weren’t posted. Thanks Elizabeth for reminding me.

These shots were taken at Rice University in some crazy weather. We thought we would have plenty of time and daylight to get alot more shots but a storm blew in and we were pressed for time. We ended up shooting for as long as we could and finally with lightning flashing all around us we called it quits. It was a good thing because as soon as we loaded the gear and Elizabeth in the car it poured down rain.  We ended up with some really nice shots and the last one was Elizabeth’s favorite. I think she knew as soon we did the shot that it was going to be her fav.

This was Elizabeth’s favorite.

Hope you like them,

Have Fun!!

Some Classic Bridals

Posted by admin on March 8, 2008 - 12:16 pm

We did a shoot with a model who did not get any Bridals done when she was married. So she brought her dress and we did some classic shots before we trashed the dress. You can see some of the TTD shots below but we thought it would share some of these for everyone. Hope you like them.

Our Casual Engagement Shoot

Posted by admin on March 5, 2008 - 4:12 pm

Our recent engagement shoot was with Norma & David. They are a super nice couple that had told us that they wanted to do some casual shots in the park and perhaps get a little dressy and do some shots downtown. My idea of casual is usually a pair of jeans and a comfortable shirt. Their idea was a little different which made for some awesome photos. Unfortunately there was something crazy going on downtown on a Sunday night that really messed up the parking situation and we ended up just calling it a night but….. I dont think we missed much. Take a peek, I think you will like the pics.

Check back soon for a couple more amazing photos from this awesome couple. I am sure some of these will pop up on our website.

Have Fun!!

A Recent Shoot with Anna

Posted by admin on March 2, 2008 - 9:27 pm

We went downtown to photograph a super sweet girl, Anna. She is considering getting into modeling and wanted to get some photos taken of her. We spent a couple of hours in the morning taking some photos in and around the Wortham Center and then we went into the Tunnels to do some different looking shots. Hope you like them.

Check back tomorrow as we will posting some recent engagement shots that turned out really nice.

Have Fun!!

Recent Model Shoot

Posted by admin on February 29, 2008 - 3:52 pm

Becca & I were invited to a model shoot recently and we ended up with a few nice shots. Studio modeling shoots are so different from weddings but it really helps to get us in tune with some dramatic posing that we can pass on to our Brides. Hope you like the shots.
